What is an Unconference?

An “Unconference” may seem like any other conference, but with one big difference: it’s community-driven.

At most conferences, organizers design session topics and call for presenters. Attendees arrive in “receive mode,” expecting to learn whatever the presenters have prepared.

At an Unconference, attendees propose content to share, vote to prioritize and select content to be shared, and present the content. Though some sessions may be selected and announced before the unconference begins, much of the schedule takes shape dynamically during the event. Each time slot can host multiple sessions simultaneously, so attendees can vote for and choose the sessions they want to see presented and select among the most popular sessions for any given time.
